Although many claimed that Micromax's Yu Televentures is about to shut down, the company dismissed all those rumoured with an announcement of a new smartphone. The company also promised to deliver a unique design and better consumer experience with future phones.
Dubbed the Yureka Black, the handset features a 5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Snapdragon 430 with an octa-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage and a 3,000 mAh battery.
It runs Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), but the company will release an update to Android 7.0 (Nougat) soon. The phone is priced at $140 (Rs 8,999) and will be up for sale exclusively on Flipkart in India from June 6. No word on wider availability.
