Despite initially claiming it would bring Android 7.0 Nougat to the OnePlus 2, OnePlus has confirmed the handset isn't going to receive the upgrade. The 2015 smartphone was listed as one of the devices that'd get Android 7.0, yet OnePlus' customer service has been telling people for a while that an upgrade isn't coming.
At the same time, the company confirmed it'd be offering Android O on the OnePlus 3 and 3T.
Part of the reason for the OnePlus 2's lack of Android 7.0 could be the company's pulling away from Cyanogen, which used to work on the company's software. That split occurred the same year the phone came out. Since then, OnePlus has switched to developing its own Android-powered OxygenOS.
