Apple's push into original content will be assisted by two executives from Sony Television, Jamie Ehrlicht and Zack Van Amburg. Both are joining Apple to become co-heads of video programming globally. While at Sony, they oversaw the creation of shows like Breaking Bad.
They'll be reporting directly to Apple executive Eddy Cue once they join this summer. Cue described their work at Sony as playing a key role in the "golden age of television."
Very little original content has been released by Apple, but reports for months have claimed that's going to change. Apple is apparently going to rely on the expertise of industry veterans to push into that industry.
