4K Game Assets Will Only Be Delivered To Xbox One X, Says Microsoft

When game updates containing 4K assets are released for the Xbox One series, they'll only head out to Xbox One X consoles, says Microsoft. Gamers won't encounter the large updates unless they can actually benefit from them, meaning certain updates won't be seen by the majority of players.

This isn't how things function on the PlayStation 4. Higher-quality game optimization assets are released for both the PS4 and PS4 Pro, even though they're meant for the latter.

Exclusively sending out the updates to the consoles that can use them makes sense, especially since it could save people gigabytes of space.
