Uber Gets Rid Of Controversial Engineer Anthony Levandowski

Anthony Levandowski has lost his spot at Uber. The former autonomous vehicle engineering lead and former Google employee remains at the center of a lawsuit against Uber.
Waymo says he stole information before leaving Google and brought that info to his startup (Otto) and then to Uber, which acquired Otto.
As the case continues, Uber has decided to distance itself from Levandowski. The engineer was recently in the spotlight for deciding to plead the Fifth when he was asked to provide documents and testify on Uber's behalf.
He pursued that route due to the "potential for criminal action."
Uber hasn't been pleased with the lack of complete cooperation from Levandowski.
Over the last few months Uber has provided significant evidence to the court to demonstrate that our self-driving technology has been built independently. Over that same period, Uber has urged Anthony to fully cooperate in helping the court get to the facts and ultimately helping to prove our case.- Angela Padilla, associate general counsel, Uber
