Uber has a new app that's aimed at a different market than usual. Its new Uber Freight service will connect truckers with long-haul jobs. The platform is being marketed as an easy way for companies to get things moved and for truckers to find work.
The app is going to "take guesswork out of finding and booking freight." It's available as a separate app on iOS and Android.
Drivers can sign up here. They'll be vetted before actually joining the platform.
When viewing Uber Freight, drivers can see a list of available jobs, their required routes, the pay, and the cargo type.
