OnePlus Officially Confirms Its Next-Gen Smartphone; 8 GB Variant Appears Online

It is finally official. OnePlus has exclusively confirmed to The Verge that the next-generation OnePlus smartphone will be released this summer. The successor to the OnePlus 3 and 3T will be called OnePlus 5, and is skipping number 4, which is considered unlucky in China.
Besides this report, another leak has just confirmed that the phone might have 8 GB of RAM, at least one of the variants. The leaked screenshot of the About screen confirms 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
If the OnePlus 5 continues the trend set by its predecessor, it should be one of the best smartphones this year.
