Besides refreshing its notebook lineup with new devices, Lenovo has also announced a plan to restructure its business in China due to changing computer industry and losing its place as the world's top PC vendor according to the recent market research by IDC. The research revealed that HP managed to overtake Lenovo last quarter, which is the first time in the last four years.
The company's China business will be reorganized into two divisions - a consumer-focused division of PC and smart devices (PCSD) and a data center group, effective immediately. The head of PCSD will be Liu Jun, who previously worked for Lenovo's mobile business group.
PC sales are also declining in other markets, so it will be interesting to see if Lenovo will make further changes to its global business.
