KGI Says There's A 'Rising Possibility' Of iPhone 8 Shortages

The chance that the "worst case scenario" with the iPhone 8 will happen and lead to delays is increasing, says KGI's Ming-Chi Kuo. He believes production and shipment issues will be present with the phone, limiting people's ability to buy it.
Because of the "major hardware upgrades" present with the new iPhone model, Kuo says Apple is encountering production troubles. Kuo's belief that the iPhone 8's full availability will be delayed has become stronger over time. He's adjusting his shipment production from 100-110 million to 80-90 million.
We are seeing more evidence that the worst-case scenario forecasted in our April 19 report could materialize,- Kuo
It's possible the increase in production for the iPhone 8 may begin around October or November, rather than the typical August/September. That'll lead to "severe supply shortages" for "a while after the new models are launched."
