Verizon Rebranding AOL, Yahoo As 'Oath'

Once Yahoo is fully under Verizon's control, it'll be combined with AOL to form a new entity known as "Oath." The new content division's name was confirmed in a tweet from AOL CEO Tim Armstrong.
This change will take place when Verizon's $4.48 billion acquisition of Yahoo finishes. That deal covers Yahoo's search, content, ad-tech, and mail businesses. Oath won't include the parts of Yahoo that are being left behind, including a 15% stake in Alibaba.

Armstrong mentioned "Summer 2017" in his tweet, which is presumably when a full launch of Oath will take place.
