Google has added a feature to image search that lets people browse for purchasable items that seem to be similar to whatever is in a picture. With the "Similar Items" system on the web and on Google's Android app, you can find products along with links to buy them.
Machine vision technology is used to identify items in photos and match them to the products at various online stores. It's bound to have imperfections, but it could be helpful for buying products like those you see online.
Google is also encouraging web developers to use metadata on their stores to make sure the feature works as well as possible.
