Adobe Research has revealed an app that could one day change the way people take selfies. The iOS software uses machine learning technology to make a 2D image partially 3D in order to tilt your head, and it can smooth out your face with a "liquify" filter or make a photo seem like it was taken from a different distance.
Other capabilities in the app come together to significantly alter photos.
You can also blur the background so that your selfie has a depth-of-field blur effect.
More impressive is a feature that lets you find a photo you're trying to mimic the look/feel of and then have those qualities applied to your picture via machine learning.
