Widespread Twitter Hack Spreads Swastikas, Pro-Erdogan Messages

Numerous Twitter accounts, including those belonging to high-profile and verified users, have been hacked as part of a pro-Erdogan campaign. Possibly thousands of accounts saw their profiles covered with Nazi swastikas and the hashtags #Nazialmanya and #Nazihollanda.
This hacking campaign comes at a time when Turkey is experiencing strained relations with some European countries.
Some of the text posted by the hackers references April 16, which is when Turkey will hold a referendum on constitutional changes that'd give Erdogan more power and even let him remain in office until 2029.
Among the accounts affected are those from Amnesty International, BBC North America, and Duke University.
