Uber is at least temporarily halting its autonomous vehicle tests. This decision comes in the wake of a self-driving car accident in Arizona. The crash occurred while the vehicle was operating autonomously and there were no serious injuries.
Some of the details of the accident still aren't known, but Uber is "continuing to look into" it.
Uber's self-driving system isn't at fault since another human driver didn't yield when Uber's car had the right of way. Although it's possible that a human in the autonomous system's position may have avoided the accident.
For now, the company is pausing its self-driving operations in Arizona and Pennsylvania.
