Tesla is getting rid of its most affordable Model S. Consumers will no longer be able to get the 60 kWh model, meaning the least expensive Model S is $74,500, which comes with a 75 kWh battery.
The lineup was updated last year to include a 60 kWh vehicle that actually had a 75 kWh battery. That extra power would remain locked unless buyers spent an extra $9,500 at some point.
You can still get the 60 kWh car until April 16.
Tesla says it found "most customers ended up buying an equivalent to the Model S 75 kWh.
