Apple Spent $500,000 On A Two-Week Exclusive From Chance The Rapper

To lock down a two-week album exclusive from Chance the Rapper, Apple spent an astounding $500,000. His 2016 'Coloring Book' mixtape was released in 2016 and Chance the Rapper recently revealed how much he was paid.
He explained on Twitter that Apple paid him half a million dollars to put the mixtape on Apple Music exclusively for just a couple weeks. After that point, he was allowed to do whatever he wanted with it, so Chance put the mixtape on Soundcloud for free.
Similar deals have seemingly been reached with other artists, such as Frank Ocean for 'Boys Don't Cry,' but it's not known how much Apple paid in those cases.
I wanna clear things up. @apple gave me half a mil and a commercial to post Coloring Book exclusively on applemusic for 2 weeks https://twitter.com/chancetherapper/status/842791104718262273
I just wanna remain transparent. Folks out there without a deal need to know they're doing everything right just keep at it. https://twitter.com/chancetherapper/status/842792599715037184
That was the extent of my deal, after 2 weeks it was on SoundCloud for free. I needed the money and they're all good people over there https://twitter.com/chancetherapper/status/842791598551437312

I feel like if I didnt clear it up people would keep trying to discredit all the work we did to make Coloring Book what it became https://twitter.com/chancetherapper/status/842792006371938304
