The upcoming Creators Update will bring various optimizations and new features, but one of the more interesting features is the Game Mode, which aims to improve gaming performance in Windows 10. We already talked about the feature, but basically it is all about tuning system resources.
At GDC, Microsoft said Game Mode will dedicate a certain number of CPU cores to game rendering rather than wasting resources on background tasks. For an eight-core system will have six cores dedicated to gaming, while the two other cores will be used for other tasks that are vital for the system. Game's performance will benefit most on low frame rates, but be advised - it won't turn a low-end PC into a gamer machine.
