Las Vegas Getting An eSports Arena This Week

Las Vegas, Nevada will receive a 15,000 square foot eSports venue on Friday. The new facility is intended to bring more millennials to the city by offering an attraction other than regular gambling. eSports is big in the United States, but it's yet to attract the same kind of in-person viewership as in other countries.
Las Vegas needs to consistently reinvent itself to remain relevant to the up-and-coming generation. We've always come up with ways to maintain our position as the entertainment capital of the world.- Seth Schorr, CEO, Fifth Street Gaming
The setup includes screens, lights, and other aspects of a traditional eSports arena, although it's much smaller than some of the facilities that have been used for large competitions.
On Friday, the three day Halo World Championship will begin, which is offering $50,000 in prize money.
