Facebook Adds 'Disputed News' Tag

Continuing its conquest against fake news, Facebook has rolled out its "disputed news" tag. That label will appear on any content that's known to be largely or entirely false, potentially making it harder for fake stores to gain traction on the network.
The feature relies on third-parties to determine how accurate a story is. Features of this sort have appeared on the network following criticism about the presence of fake news on Facebook during the 2016 US presidential election.
Only individual stories will be flagged as "disputed," not entire websites. Users can continue sharing the content as they like, but their shares will be accompanied by the tag and links to groups like Snopes and Politifact.
