Amazon Pushes Back Southest Asia Launch

Amazon is holding out on its entry into the Southeast Asian market. While the company was planning to launch in Singapore during the first quarter of 2017, it's now launching "later this year." Its intention to first set up shop in Singapore hasn't changed.
Singapore is an attractive market for a company like Amazon. Compared to some other countries in Southeast Asia, it has a high rate of credit card use and wide internet availability.
When it does eventually enter the market, it'll be increasing its competition with Chinese eCommerce giant Alibaba.
