Waze Carpooling Expands To More California Cities

Waze's carpooling service, which launched in 2016, is headed to more locations in California. It's now available in all nine counties that make up the Bay Area along with Sacramento and Monterey. Waze Carpool pairs riders and drivers based on their home and work addresses.
Riders pay a max of $0.54 per mile. Both riders and drivers are limited to two rides per day. It's not meant to be an Uber competitor and is clearly focused on helping people with their daily work commute.
Waze, a navigation app owned by Google, has 75 million active users.
