We are all aware of how a third-party smartphone charger can be dangerous, but it looks like wearables are affected as well. Unfortunately, a Gear S3 Frontier owner from the United States found this out the hard way, as a third-party charger fried his smartwatch.
Instead of using the OEM charger, he opted for a Mophie Charger Force Desk Mount which overheated the device and fried it inside.
However, according to some reports, Gear S3 devices tend to reach high temperatures while charging on other Samsung chargers, including the Gear S2 dock. Apparently the rise in heat is because the Gear S3 doesn't fit properly in the dock. To avoid these problems, make sure to use original charger.
