Samsung Leader Being Indicted On Bribery, Embezzlement Charges

Samsung's vice-chairman and de facto leader Jay Y. Lee is going to indicted on bribery, embezzlement, and other charges. These legal proceedings against the top executive could lead to him spending years in jail. Lee has been on track to take over the company.
Four other executives with the company are also being charged in connection with a political corruption scandal centered around impeached South Korean president Park Geun-hye.
Lee is said to have gained support from the government for a controversial merger by sending $37 million to entities operated by a friend of Park.
Samsung has admitted to those payments, but it is arguing they were not for political gain.
