LG Wins Case Against Counterfeit LG Tone Sellers, Awarded $168 Million

LG has won a case against 17 companies involved in the manufacture, distribution, and sale of counterfeit LG Tone headsets. A federal court awarded the tech company $168 million in damages.
The case began last year, with LG originally asking for $200 million. LG's decision to file the lawsuit and its win could help to discourage other firms from making or selling counterfeit items.
While we can declare victory in this latest battle, we will remain vigilant. We will not let up; those who choose to make and peddle counterfeits, knockoffs and look-alikes can expect aggressive legal action.- Chang Ma, president, LG Electronics Mobile USA
