Forza Developer Opening New Studio, Working On Non-Racing Game

Playground Games, the developer of Forza Horizon, is opening a new studio that'll work on a new non-racing open world title. According to GamesIndustry, the studio will see Playground Games double its workforce to about 200 people. The new game is known as "Project 2."
We feel like we've become pretty good at racing games over the years. We can always strive to get better but we'd love to prove ourselves in a different genre. That's another goal of Project 2, to allow us to do that. We're going to need to hire some very talented people with experience that we don't have.- Ralph Fulton, founder, Playground Games
The developer has been around since 2010. Since then, it's created three Forza Horizon games, but it hasn't worked on any other titles. Although it's now working on something else, Playground isn't leaving the Forza series behind.
