ASUS can be proud of what it achieved last year in terms of gaming notebook shipments. According to latest report, global gaming notebook sales in 2016 are estimated at 4.5 million units, and majority of those units were shipped by ASUS and MSI. ASUS shipped around 1.2 million units and therefore took the top spot, while MSI is second with around 850,000 shipped units.
MSI didn't meet its expectations as it thought it would ship over 1.2 million units. Global demand for gaming PCs is fast growing thanks to expansion to Southeast Asia, East Europe and Latin America. Therefore both ASUS and MSI expect to increase shipments of gaming notebooks in 2017 by 10-15%.
