Yahoo Changing Name To Altaba Post-Acquisition, Marissa Meyer Stepping Down From Board

Once Verizon's $4.8 billion acquisition of Yahoo is complete, filings reveal Yahoo will change its name and Marissa Mayer will step down from the board. The board size will drop to five directors and it'll also lose Yahoo co-founder David Filo.
As for the new name. Yahoo will be known as "Altaba," a publicly traded investment company. It'll hold onto the things not being picked up by Verizon: the company's share of Alibaba, other Asian investments, and non-core patents. The core of Yahoo isn't included under "Altaba" since it's being purchased by Verizon.
Mayer is now confirmed to be leaving the board once the deal closes, but it's not clear if she'll have a position within Verizon.
Verizon says the Yahoo brand will continue to live within the company.
