Verizon Interested In Acquiring A Large Cable Company

Lowell McAdam, CEO of Verizon, is reportedly interested in picking up a major US cable company, reports the New York Post. Verizon is said to be considering an acquisition and it may be looking at Charter or Comcast.
An acquisition of that sort would give Verizon a greater position in the cable market. If it were to acquire Comcast, it would also be buying a massive media company.
This move would enable the company to better compete with AT&T, which has benefited from its acquisition of DirecTV.
It's not clear if any talks between Verizon and cable companies are underway.
