Tesla Gigafactory To Be Powered By 70-Megawatt Solar Farm

Tesla's massive Gigafactory will be powered by a 70-megawatt solar farm, according to documents reported on by Electrek. It'll be located on the roof of the facility and will be 7x larger than any other rooftop solar setup. Tesla revealed the plan in an investor relations document given to analysts during a tour.
With the solar farm Tesla will fulfill at least the majority of the factory's energy demand. If there's any extra power, Tesla will store it for later use in its Powerpack units.
The solar panels will presumably be manufactured by SolarCity, which was acquired by Tesla in 2016.
