With Apple and many other manufacturers moving towards using OLED display, Sony is now also planning to jump aboard the OLED train sometime next year with a flagship model. Until then, Sony will continue to rely on LCDs, like it did for so many years now.
There is still no information as to who will be providing the OLED panels to Sony, or maybe the company will make them. Sony is probably waiting for LG and JDI to ramp up production to buy panels from them instead of Samsung. We're still quite a long way off from finding out exactly what the smartphone will look like
