Android Wear 2.0 Confirmed To Arrive Next Month

Google's smartwatch platform is about to get its first major update since its release. At first, the company was expected to announce Android Wear 2.0 a few months ago, but they decided to postpone the launch and further improve the platform. It looks like the platform is finally ready for the official launch.
Letter addressed to developers and published by Android confirms that the update will finally arrive in early February. The letter warns them that their apps won't be shown at Play Store if they aren't optimized for the platform. For the first time, the platform will also get standalone apps that won't need phones to work.
