No more games will be released by Nintendo for the Wii U after The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed that no additional first-party development is taking place. He says the Wii U is coming to a close.
From a first-party standpoint, there's no new development coming after the launch of the legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We really are at the end of life for Wii U.- Fils-Aime
There has yet to be any talk about closing the Wii U's online services, so games and services will remain available for the foreseeable future.
From our standpoint, sunsetting is quite some time into the future. The ongoing activity from an online standpoint on [Mario] Kart and Splatoon is significant. We're going to continue to support that. - Fils-Aime
