Xiaomi has had a quite good response from customers regarding its first laptop, the Mi Notebook Air. The company probably learned a lot from it and is already working on its successor, the Mi Notebook Air 2. Wang Jiping, the Vice President of IDC, said that the laptop will feature a similar design with thin chassis, but instead of using aluminum, the chassis will be made out of a higher lithium-magnesium alloy that would also make the device lighter.
There is no mention of technical specifications, but expect to see the latest Intel Kaby Lake processors, up to at least 16 GB of RAM, fast SSD storage and good battery life. It would also be great if Xiaomi decides to use NVIDIA's latest Pascal-based GPUs, but we'll have to wait and see. At least we know Xiaomi will price it competitively.
