Japan Display Inc (JDI) has now announced that it has started mass producing a 5-inch class low-temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) LCD display. The new LCD display comes with wide quad-HD resolution format (WQHD, 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution), with a pixel density over 500ppi.
According to JDI, the new panel comes with low power consumption and has also solved flickering issues at low refresh frequency (30 Hz) common on many LCDs. The new display is able to change its frequency rate from 30 Hz to 60 Hz, without affecting the image quality.
