HP Recalls Over 100,000 Batteries Due To Overheating Concerns

More than 100,00 laptop batteries are being recalled by HP due to an overheating issue that poses a "fire and burn hazard" risk. The recall was announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. It builds upon an earlier one from June 2016 that affected 41,000 batteries in the US.
Among the laptops affected are HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and HP Pavilion models purchased from March 2013 to October 2016.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled batteries, remove them from the notebook computers and contact HP for a free replacement battery,- CPSC
HP noted that under 1% of laptops sold during the time period were affected by the bad batteries.
