Comcast Says Its Wireless Network Is Launching This Year

Comcast will begin offering a wireless network sometime in 2017, CEO Brian Roberts confirmed during an earnings call. This will give Comcast the ability to bundle wireless service plans with its existing cable plans. Those bundles will "add value" for consumers, says Roberts, as well as "improve retention."
We plan to include wireless in our multi-product bundles in a way that is designed to add value to our customers, improve retention, and ultimately benefit lifetime customer economics for us. Our offering will give customers access to a world-class wireless network, benefiting from our Wi-Fi hotspots with the best mobile devices and a simple, transparent experience, all for a great value.- Roberts
Verizon's network infrastructure will be used by Comcast to provide its service. An earlier spectrum deal gave Comcast the right to use part of Verizon's network.
