Apple isn't happy with just making devices for content consumption, reports The Wall Street Journal, it also wants to enter the world of content creation. The company is said to be planning an investment in original TV shows and the series could premiere as early as this year.
Original video may be added to Apple Music in a bid to boost subscribers. It's been speaking with Hollywood producers about creating shows.
Apple initially wants to release a few high-quality series that could rival the likes of Westworld, House of Cards, and Stranger Things.
No scripts have been purchased and Apple is said to still be figuring out the business plan.
