A popular alternative to AdBlock Plus, uBlock Origin, can now be downloaded from the Windows Store as a preview and used on Microsoft Edge. The extension blocks ads and does so while using fewer resources. It also differentiates itself from its main competitor by not selling ads.
The service can be downloaded for free. Since it's still a preview, you should expect to encounter some bugs in the software, but those should be dealt with shortly.
Microsoft Edge extensions can only be installed if you're running the Anniversary Update version of Windows 10.
