Twitter Considers Adding Encrypted DMs

Twitter will consider an update to direct messages that will add support for encrypted content to that part of the app. CEO Jack Dorsey says the request for "secret, burn-after-reading" direct messages is something that's reasonable and will be considered internally.
One more ask, @Jack: how about secret, burn-after-reading DMs? Even if E2E encryption won't work by default in all clients, give us a start!
Edward Snowden, the famous NSA whistleblower, sent in that request and received an open response from Dorsey. The request was submitted following a live Q&A between Snowden and Dorsey.

The Twitter CEO is in favor of pardoning Snowden, who also requested Twitter add the ability to edit tweets.
