Samsung is updating its smart TV system to add Chromecast-style streaming to its Smart View mobile app. The latest version of that app on iOS will let people stream from YouTube, Hulu, Amazon Video, and others. Users had been limited to "casting" content stored locally on their mobile device.
An official announcement regarding the feature change hasn't been made, but the new streaming options do show up in Smart View 2.0.1's interface.
Netflix is the largest streaming service currently absent from the updated app.
It's possible we could learn more about the smart TV streaming options at CES.
