The Oculus Rift and HTC Vive both require a wired PC connection to run, but Rivvr has introduced a wireless solution for both virtual reality headsets. Its device attaches to either headset and doesn't add much heft to the overall setup since it only weighs 300 grams.
Rivvr will send your PC's video feed to your headset at 40 to 80 Mbps. It uses proprietary technology to reduce the size of the content.
Only 11 ms of tracking latency is introduced with this solution, which shouldn't be significant enough to negatively impact the experience. Some bugs may exist, according to early reports, such as signal drops.
More information will be shared at CES. It's going to be out by the end of spring 2017 for $200 to $300.
