Qualcomm's 2017 flagship chipset was announced a few months ago, but we have yet to learn more about it. The company promised to unveil more details next month at CES 2017, and ahead of the trade show, the chipset has found its ways into the Geekbench database.
The listing shows a test smartphone called the Essential FIH-PM1, which includes an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.9 GHz, paired with 4 GB of RAM. For comparison, Snapdragon 821 is running at 2.15 GHz or 2.35 GHz depending on model. The listing shows 1,844 points for the single-core and 5,426 for the multi-core tests. We are definitely looking at the prototype version, as even the Kirin 960 surpasses the Snapdragon 835 in both tests.
