Samsung has confirmed Android 7.1.1 Nougat will be released for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge next month. It confirmed the impending release after reports appeared claiming Samsung had finished beta testing the update. In a note to beta testers, Samsung said the Nougat beta program would end at midnight on December 30.
It also said in the note that a public release is planned for January and Samsung will "try to apply most of the useful opinions shared by all of you."
The update will reach unlocked handsets first.
