LG’s next flagship smartphone, the LG G7, may come with a dedicated AI button on the side. The smartphone was leaked to TechRadar, though it has been seen in other leaks before as well. The publication noted that this could be a pointer towards what LG has planned for AI in future. The company has so far depended on the Google Assistant for its smartphones, so it’s possible that LG has designed an AI of its own now.

However, a dedicated AI button didn’t work very well for Samsung, which added the Bixby button on the Galaxy S8 series last year and this year’s Galaxy S9 series. The LG device in question is expected to be called the LG G7 ThinQ and reports say that the ThinQ may use the AI for its camera. The AI features were first introduced in the LG V30S ThinQ in February, so it’s possible that the LG G7 will follow suit.
Furthermore, the LG G7 is expected to have a 6.1-inch QHD display with minimal bezels. It should run on the Snapdragon 845 chipset from Qualcomm, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage inside. There will likely be an 8 MP front camera and two 16 megapixel cameras on the back. The fingerprint sensor should also be located on the back of the device.
The South Korean appliance maker, is expected to bring the G7 ThinQ to market in May, so we could possibly see an announcement before the end of the month and we will keep you informed when that happens.
