Last week’s after the Facebook row involving British political consultancy firm Cambridge Analytica that allegedly used data of more than 50 million Facebook users inappropriately, many users have announced that they will quit the social media platform in protest. And one of the high-profile people personalities to join the bandwagon is none other than SpaceX CEO and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk.
The chief executive officer of Tesla Motors Inc was quizzed by several Facebook fans on why he had decided to take down the official pages of SpaceX and Tesla from the social media network. “It’s not a political statement and I didn’t do this because someone dared me to do it,” Musk said via Twitter. “Just don’t like Facebook. Gives me the willies. Sorry.”

Interestingly, Musk-owned the Boring Company, the contractor drilling underground tunnels in LA, was untouched and so was the non-profit artificial-intelligence research firm OpenAI. Meanwhile, the consequences of closing Facebook pages of Musk’s two companies will be felt most by the employees running the pages and none of Musk's critics.
