Square introduced a new product on Monday that's intended for larger business. Its new "Square Register" functions as an alternative checkout option that's more professional than having people check out using a small chip reader or a tablet. A key benefit for businesses, says Square, is that the Register is harder to steal.

The overall product is similar in form to a tablet, but it exclusively runs the company's checkout software. It can function offline, though it must be connected via ethernet or WiFi to automatically receive updates.
Square Register costs $999 upfront or it's available for $49/month for two years.
