Microsoft Investigating Possible Ad Buys From Russia On Bing

Microsoft is looking into the possibility that its search engine, Bing, was also used by Russia-linked groups to engage in political advertising. We already know Russian groups purchased ads on Facebook, Google, and Twitter. Its possible ads on Bing were used.
The company says it was informed of possible ad buys, though it hasn't confirmed the legitimacy of those reports. If it finds "inappropriate activity" Microsoft will "take steps to minimize such misuse in the future."
Ads on Facebook have received a large portion of the attention. Russian groups purchased around $100,000 worth of ads on the site, leading the platform to implement new and review systems.
