Google Assistant is no longer limited to a female voice. The digital assistant has received an update that includes "Voice II," a male-sounding voice. It can be enabled in the "Assistant Voice" settings menu of the software's preferences. The new option is available on devices like smartphones and the Google Home.

All of the main assistants have historically been female. Cortana, Siri, and Alexa all sound like females and have gendered names. Google Assistant, however, is a genderless title, making it easy to add an alternative male option.
