India Considering Apple's Request For Tax, Policy Exemptions

Apple is asking for some tax and policy exemptions from the Indian government that'll facilitate its operations, including manufacturing, in the country. The government is now considering those requests, according to Ramesh Abhishek of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.
One of the primary things Apple is asking for is the ability to open retail stores in the country. Right now it has to sell its items through resellers. This is likely to be granted now that manufacturing is taking place in India and other foreign tech companies have received permission, like China's Oppo.
