Google Lens Debuting On Pixel Devices This Year

Google introduced Lens during its I/O event earlier this year but it wasn't immediately able to offer it to the public. We're still months away from a release, but Google Lens will be debuting on Pixel phones later this year. That upcoming release was announced during the company's hardware event on Wednesday.
The feature is an intelligent Google Assistant-connected image recognition app. It pulls on multiple machine intelligence capabilities, such as image recognition and Google Translate. You'll be able to take a picture of an item and have Lens tell you what it is. The same kind of functionality exists when looking at some businesses and landmarks.
After reaching Pixel devices, Lens will arrive on other devices "in time."
